Global Energy & Utilities Lead

Specialising in energy networks and energy retail, Stephen leads Klarus’s Energy & Utilities business and is a member of the firm’s Leadership Team.

With more than 25 years in consulting, including over a decade at Partner level, he has advised executive teams across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East on the strategic, transformation and technology decisions facing the sector. He also has experience in water and the wider energy sector. He began his career as a civil engineer at Balfour Beatty and has held senior roles at Baringa Partner, FTI Consulting and EY.

Stephen’s work includes advising organisations through regulatory and investment cycles, operating model change, network modernisation, data and AI programmes, and divestment and acquisition programmes for distribution businesses.

At Klarus, he is building the Energy & Utilities business to combine sector expertise with strategy, transformation, and the practical use of AI.
